    Plaquenil and weight gain

At first it seemed like it helped now I feel the same as before I started taking the medicine other than the fact that none of my clothes fit and there is a lot more of me to carry around. Anyone know if I quit taking it if the weight will fall back off I started Hydroxychloroquine 2 weeks ago. One week in and I thought this may just work, except for the ‘extra itchiness’ I seemed to get every night.

For women, start with 100 pounds, and add 5 pounds for every inch over 5 feet. For men, start with 106 pounds, and add 6 pounds for every inch over 5 feet. The maximum dose of Plaquenil is 6.5 mg/kg of ideal body weight per day, regardless of whether a person is overweight, underweight, or normal weight. One kilogram kg equals 2.2 pounds. The dosage and length of treatment are based on your medical condition and response to therapy. In children, dosage is also based on weight. For malaria prevention, take this medication by mouth once a week on the same day of the week, or as directed by your doctor. Mark a calendar to help you remember. Hydroxychloroquine is used to treat or prevent malaria, a disease caused by parasites that enter the body through the bite of a mosquito. Malaria is common in areas such as Africa, South America.

I was prescribed this drug to ease my ra disease, I was taking 400mg per day which was to last for 3 months then reduced to 200mg. Right before I hit the two week mark, I woke up with my heart racing and continued feeling my heart flutter all day and I just felt week and tired. After msging Rheum, decided to stop taking meds to see how I feel and continue with the AIP to handle symptoms and try to work at ‘healing from inside out! Time will tell and I’m eager to see how much the AIP is helping once odd meds.

Plaquenil and hypoglycemia - Sjogren's World I never did take plaquenil when it was offered by the rheumatologist, mainly because I had serious shingles which affected my eyes and I was afraid to take anything that might cause more problems with my eyes at the time. Anyway, that is beside the point but looking at the pharmacy company's write-up on plaquenil there is a statement that says
